This event, being held in Auckland, New Zealand, is part of the 12-12-12 Worldwide Multi-Event, celebrating the date 12/12/12, but because the 12th of December is a Wednesday, this event is on Saturday the 15th of December. This means eveyone can come, from far and wide, to attend this event, the last of its kind for a very very long time!
An event geocoin will be available to celebrate the 12/12/12 Worldwide Multi-Event. This is a collectable, but fully trackable geocoin designed for all of the events making up the multi-event all around the world, with each individual event, Auckland included, having it's own unique coin colour scheme.

This event follows in the footsteps of our past 10-10-10 and 11-11-11 events, and we plan for it to be a fitting send-off to this series of "date" multi-events. We have a bunch of prizes already organised, and we'll be updating this page as we organise various activities to take place at the event, so watch this space.
EVENT GEOCOIN
This event is part of a series of events all around the world celebrating the 12th day of the 12th month of the 12th year of this century, and the 12th year of geocaching. Each event has a geocoin, all of the same design, but with different colouring. The Auckland 12-12-12 Event Geocoin artwork is shown below. It's a copper geocoin with glow-in-the-dark numbers and starburst on the back.
This is a strictly limited edition 2 inch 12 sided coin, fully trackable on geocaching.com. It is larger than previous years (not our decision) but being larger means a nicer coin but more expensive than previous years' coins - the cost of each coin is $20. We suggest pre-ordering a coin from us to ensure you secure one or they can be purchased from us at the event. Geo-Rogaine
We have a fun rogaine planned that will take you out and searching for clues around the local area. Observation and some forward thinking will be the key to success here!
Geo-Quiz
We're going to split up everyone into a few teams to play off against each other in a quiz full of fun geocaching and non-geocaching quiz questions.
Geo-Bingo
Geo-bingo is always a favourite at events and is a great way to break the ice with geocachers you might not have met before. This time we'll be adding a fun twist!
Geo-Awards
We tried this out at a previous event and we're going to do it again - when you arrive we will ask you to write down a couple of crazy geocaching awards and nominate someone to win the award you created. We'll go through the suggestions and find the funniest and most popular, and we'll announce these awards later on during the event.
AFTER PARTY CITO
Following this "after party" event will be a CITO to clean up the community centre before we hand it back to the council (whatever is left of it since the world has ended). We hope you'll stick around to help and grab another smiley!
