Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Clay County Cemetery Cache series.

We created this series because we enjoy cemetery caches, since they are usually in peaceful surroundings with few curious observers. Each of the grave markers you see offers the chance to stop and ponder the circumstances surrounding the life represented there. Many of the cemeteries in this series date back to the Clay County pioneers of the 1890's or earlier. Some contain only a few graves and fell into disuse as the communities they once represented faded into history. Others reflect a continuum of family influence in the same area over the past 130 years.

Please take the time to look around and imagine some of the history you see here. As with all cemetery caches, please visit only during daylight hours and be respectful of your surroundings.

Congratulations to grumpyoldtexan and PPanther for FTF!!
