Geocache Description:

The pretty village of Rosevears is located on the western banks of the Tamar River, 18 km north of Launceston.

It was originally established as a ship building port and 'The Rebecca' the boat which carried John Batman across Bass Strait in 1835 and led to the creation of Melbourne, was built here.

Also nearby is the historic Rosevears Waterfront Tavern, built in 1831, which has excellent views across the Tamar Valley. The Tavern offers both meals and drinks and is usually packed to the rafters for Sunday lunch.

You might also see quite a lot of cyclists, particularly on weekends. So depending upon when you visit, your stealth skills may be tested. You never know, The DaFiChNi's could even be cruising past.

The cache is a magnetic eclipse tin with logbook and pencil.
