This cache is the first of a series called 'River Ver Series' and will lead you to the River Ver about ¼ mile down this road. You will pass the Redbournbury Mill on your left. Parking can be found on the A5183 for 2 cars in the layby, just look out for the 'P' sign. PLEASE PLEASE be careful crossing this major road. Limited parking can also be found down Redbournbury Lane or at the mill itself.

Redbournbury Watermill
There has been a mill at Redbournbury for about 500 years and possibly even before the Domesday Book of 1087. It is built on the River Ver to get the gently flowing waters to power the waterwheel and the millstones for centuries. The mill has a lot of history and has been in the hands of the Abbey of St Albans, The Crown, and the Gorhambury Estate. The mill was sold in 1986 to private owners, but unfortunately, in 1987 it,was badly damaged by fire. However, thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the volunteers and the team, over the last 20 years it has now been fully restored to its former glory. BYOP
