Fetban: I am sorry to see this Geocache go, but I work out of town now, and I haven't been able to tend to it this summer. It is time I free up the location for someone else.

As an update to the particular Girl Scouts who grew up in Troop 59, most of them graduated from college this past Spring, and at least one has started her graduate school program! Another one even bought her own house more than a year ago! I will forever be thankful for the 13 years I spent with these amazing women.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a tribute to Girl Scout Troop 59. This is my 9th year as their Leader, and we have had many amazing times together, some near this very location! Juliette Gordon Low started Girl Scouting 100 years ago, in March of 1912. She taught that Girl Scouts needed to work hard and have fun! Troop 59 has certainly done both! Please use extreme stealth as you search for this cache, and NO night caching!

The little trickle of a stream not too far from GZ flooded to a 40-foot-wide gushing creek during our Troop Camp in 2008. As 13.5 inches of rain fell overnight, we were first evacuated from the campground, and then the next morning, due to flash flooding throughout the property, we were evacuated from the Welcome Center, as well. We also met a HUGE snapping turtle, who was evicted from his home, sunning himself right next to a nearby trash can. We will never forget that camping trip! Girl Scout Leadership can be HARD WORK, but the payoff includes delightful smiles, just like when finding this cache.
