If you look closely through the high grass, you can still see the picnic tables, stone barbecues and pathway edgings from days-gone-by.
Clearly great effort went into the development, of the Rotary Park when it was established and it doesn't take a great deal of imagination to see the potential it offers, but alas numerous floods and the passing of time have left the park in a state that is well below the standard expected in one of Tasmania's tourist towns
Despite this, there has been good news for the park in the last 18 months. The Northern Midlands Council conducted a feasibility study in June 2011 to utilise the park in an intra-town bikeway linking Evandale, Perth and Longford.
Secondly the Evandale Rotary Club minutes from November 2011 reveal plans by the local Rotary Club to clean up the park and restore it to its former glory.
Let's hope one or both of these proposals goes ahead and the park once again is introduced to a mower and a whipper snipper.
The cache is a camo black sistema with logbook and pencil and the usual small swaps.
