Geocache Description:

On March 3rd a group of Swedish geocachers will visit the battelefield of Poltava. During the visit we will gather here at the monument the Russians errected here 1909 in honour of the fallen Swedish soldiers 200 years before. The inscription on the monument is in both the Russian and Swedish languages:

«Eternal memory of brave Swedish warriors, fallen in the Battle near Poltava on 27 June, 1709»

We will arrive here by a chartered coach. According to our tour organizer we can expect to be in the area of the monument roughly around 14.00. Local geocachers are more than welcome to join but please bear with us when it comes to the fact that it is hard to provide an exact time.
