Geocache Description:

A geocache located at the trailhead between Henroost and Hooten Wheals Mines, very near to the O Brook crossing.

The log is enclosed in a 35mm film container which is in another container and a camo bag.

A beautiful location, 2km along the old track from Hexworthy to the two disused mines of Hooten Wheals and Henroost, located just off the track and slightly up the hill after crossing the O Brook. This track which starts in farmland is very wet and muddy to start, but becomes more substantial once it leaves the enclosures and joins the moor proper. There are stiles if you take this route, but you can also head here fairly easily from Combestone Tor and Ter Hill.

Hooten Wheals is a large collection of disused mine workings which eventually closed down inbetween the two world wars.
