Albert & Walter Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MADD Momma: Unfortunately, the entire stand of trees where the cache was hidden has been cut down. I have no choice but to archive this cache. Saddens me, as this was a fun spot with 18 favourite points. Happy caching!

Geocache Description:

Parking is available behind the Chamber of Commerce building.

Cache is a spoof on the next door neighbour. A&W is a chain of fast-food restaurants distinguished by its draft root beer and teen burgers. A&W was the first successful food franchise company, starting to sell franchises in 1921 in California. Today, it has locations throughout the world, serving a typical fast food menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, chubby chicken and french fries. A number of its outlets are drive-in restaurants with carhops. (My first real job in Calgary) The company became famous for its "frosty mugs," where the mug would be kept in the freezer prior to being filled with root beer and served to the customer. I mixed and stirred the secret root beer recipe in the basement of the restaurant every morning, after I became the assistant manager.
The company name was taken from the surname initials of partners Roy W. Allen and Frank Wright. I always thought the founders names were Albert and Walter, as explained to me by my boss, Bob on my first day of orientation at the A&W in Calgary, and I believed him so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
