One a one-day backpack trip to Showers Lake I took a little detour from the trail to plant this cache where you can get a bigger view (and yes, this means up!).
If you're hiking on PCT from Carson to Echo, you'll notice a small pond at the top of the first big climb. This is where I dropped my back and went for the view. Rather than a mad scramble up, I took the tree line up for the most part and then veered to the hiding spot. Lots of wind up there so make sure to have your hat securely fastened. Nice view of Caples and Red Lake from the GZ.
