The Wapsi-Great Western Line Trail is an 18.5 mile paved hiking and biking trail that passes through prairie, farmland, marshes, and woodlands. This trail begins in the town of Riceville, Ia. and continues north to Minnesota. The trail goes near Lake Hendricks, a popular spot for camping, fishing, picnicking and swimming. The trail also crosses the Wapsipinicon River, travels near Amish farms, over steel bridges and near giant wind turbines. Parking is located very near the cache, just off of Highway 9.
Riceville sits on the county line between Mitchell and Howard counties.
