Molly's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ABSanter: apologies for the lack of communication over this cache, we have still not been able to do anything about re-enabling this cache so will archive it for now with the view that maybe it will be possible to relocate one up here in the future as I know people have enjoyed coming to this spot that otherwise they may have missed

Geocache Description:

The cache is placed within Caradon quarry which is now disused. Work started in the quarry in 1920 by the Liskeard firm of Joseph Sweet and Sons and was later worked by Roseland Plant before being closed. The quarry is situated on the north facing slope of Caradon Hill whose mining history is well documented in books that can be bought locally and mentioned in many of the other caches on and around the hill. The views from the quarry entrance are spectacular and it’s a great place to bring a dog for a swim. The quarry is a favourite swimming spot for Molly who is pictured in the gallery and so named after her.

Please note although we regularly visit we do not live close to this cache and so it will be maintained by a family member who does, so if there are delays in maintenance then this is likely to be the reason why. Please take care when stepping on any granite boulders as they can be slippy. We hope you enjoy visiting this beautiful spot and seeing a lesser known area of Cornwall.
