A long time ago, legend has it of three brothers who know of a buried treasure here on Daydream Island. The story is as follows:
The ship Ulyseas was sailing in uncharted waters through what in now known as the Great Barrier Reef. The ship ran aground on the coral reef bed of West Molle, which is now known as Daydream. The damage was quite bad and the Captain Jose Marco Antonio Tzavaras didn’t think that they would be able to fully repair the ship. He ordered the burying of the treasure that was on board. The treasure was buried in the island somewhere only known to the captain and crew. After the repairs had been completed the Ulyseas was ready to sail. Off the coast of Hawaii on the final leg of their journey the Ulyseas ran into a major storm. The boat was already damaged from running aground at South Molle and was unable to withstand the force of the storm. The boat sank killing all 52 men on board except for the three brothers. The three brothers swam ashore and vowed to return to the island to find the treasure. 5 years later they returned to try and find the treasure. The brothers arrived knowing exactly where the treasure was buried, but they did not know that Medusa was already here. They met her in the middle of the island and were instantly turned into stone exactly whare they are today. The tressure was never found and is still missing to this day. Legend has it that is someone can find a way for the three brothers to be turned from stone, they will tell you where the treasure is buried. You do not have to wait on the brothers to find the cache, it is a 2L plastic container with some trinkets inside.
