Geocache Description:


This cache was originally placed by the North Country Trail Association back in 2001. It has been most recently adopted by Mister TFM, in October of 2013.

The Old Stone House location is Route 8 and Route 173. This is an old Stage Coach stop between Pittsburgh and Erie built in 1822. If you come on Saturday after May 1st you can take a tour of the house.

There is lot to do in the area and places to visit. Slippery Rock University or Moraine State Park are close by. Jennings Environmental Education Center is located across Rt 8.

The North Country Trail is marked with blue blazes. The closest entry to the trail can be found next to the parking lot entrance gate. The trail is being built by volunteer members of the NCTA. This is part of the North Country National Scenic Trail, the longest hiking trail in the nation. This is a very beautiful trail. Volunteers build the bridges and maintain trail. Park your car and “Follow the Blue Blazes”

The stash is in a plastic gray ammo can. Log book and information on the trail. Please be sure to sign your name and e-mail the condition and exact location of this cache.
