This is should be a park and grab. You will be at the fishing access for Cold Brook.
This cache should be winter friendly when the fishing access gets plowed. If not plowed do not park on the roadway!
Take a little time to look around you and reflect on the past usage of this area. The area is called the Snow Bowl and was once the home to St. Lawrence University's ski area. The land is now privately owned but you can still see the old snack bar building on the east side of the road and if you look carefully at the hillside on the west you can see the remains of the ski jump and jump building. The actual ski slope is now grown up with brush.
The area is also known to locals as the S Curves. That name will no longer apply with the construction of the new bridge and re-aligned roadway. With the new road the old sharp corners are gone along with the one way traffic controlled by traffic lights that were put in place several years ago after flooding washed out the original bridge and roadway.
