Cache on the Farm Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Rattlingcrew: The cache owner has not logged in since February. The cache has a late history of being missing and I spent about an hour there today, turning over about anything that could support a container. The Hedge is gone, as is the mound of sticks. There are horses in the pasture now. I did not have a cache container with me to replace it with...the residents drove by very slowly and sort of scowled in my direction, but they did not stop. I wandered around in the pasture. The only mound of sticks I could find in the vicinity was in the ditch, with no container. I am confident this one has gone south. If somebody wants to replace it, I will be glad to bring it back.

Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in a farm field, along the hedge row. It is at ground level under a dead branch beside a mound of dead limbs. The elevation here (according to my GPS) is 869 feet. Good Hunting.

This cache is in a clear plastic container, with a beige colored lid, approximately 12 by 8 inches in size, and about 3 inches deep. When I placed it, it contained two #2 pencils, a note pad and a pencil sharpener in one plastic zip-lock bag. Two AA batteries. A Wizard type figurine. A plastic key ring, "You couldn't afford me,". One Jigsaws Galore computer game on 3 ½ inch disk. Haunted House Pinball computer game on two (2) , 3 ½ inch disks. Two extra, empty, plastic zip lock bags, and the Geocache Site information sheet.

About four (4) miles south of here, is the town of Fort Scott. If you have time, you might want to wander on down there and visit the restored 1840's military fort, which has been restored to original condition. It is very interesting, and run by the National Parks Service.

Don't worry about being on private property, I own the farm. Have a great day.
