Geocache Description:

Team STD (scrapcat, TaGeez and Da Finns) has been on a puzzle kick lately, learning new things and igniting our creative juices. We’ve come across some amazing mystery/puzzles in our areas, created by some very talented Cachers. It has made us truly appreciate the Cache Type “Mystery/Puzzle” (also called “unkown” and does include "challenge" caches). This challenge is in celebration of reaching our mystery/puzzle/challenge goal for the year.

For some, you will qualify easily and can make the grab. For many, we hope this challenge inspires you to expand your horizons because puzzles can be fun!

Mystery or Puzzle Caches (per Geocaching.com):

The "catch-all" of cache types, this form of geocache may involve complicated puzzles that you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. Mystery/Puzzle Caches often become the staging ground for new and unique geocaches that do not fit in another category.

They are listed in Geocaching.com with a large question mark icon ? and appear on your Statistics page under "Unknown Cache":

Let’s keep the challenge criteria simple.

  • The cache is at the posted coordinates.
  • The difficulty is in accumulating 210 or more “mystery/puzzle/challenge” finds to date. The final is pretty easy.
  • To gain your smiley, you must find 210 or more “mystery/puzzle/challenge” caches to date.
  • You are not required to post a bookmark list, a GSAK screenshot, etc of your finds.
  • However, in your log, you must list the number of “mystery/puzzle/challenge” finds (listed on your Statistics page under "Unknown Cache") to date. Logs without this information will be deleted.
  • As a bonus, try to include what type of puzzles you enjoy (math, onsite, ciphers, etc) or include the GC of your favorite puzzle find.

Happy caching!
