A 4.502 g bullet is fired into a 3.000 kg ballistic pendulum and becomes embedded in it. If the pendulum rises a vertical distance of 9.000 cm, what is the initial speed of the bullet in m/s? *g=9.8m/s2

Round your answer to the nearest whole number. This answer is "A."

Puzzle B
A 271.169 lb. bullet initially at rest explodes and separates into 3 separate pieces. Two of the three pieces have a mass of 29 kg (total of the two is 58 kg). One of the two pieces travels at a speed of (119340/29) km/h at an angle of 180o positive to the x-axis, while the other piece travels at a speed of 1400 m/s and at an angle of 90o positive to the x-axis. What is the the direction of travel (in degrees) of the 3rd piece negative to the x-axis?
