Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

I archived this cache because the disable note said the cache is archived to to lack of a hiding place. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

my 1st geocache around my new home...
we'll start with an easy hike
close to kampot, this one offers a bit of exercise and a good view.
go early, wear good shoes.

probably best to use a moto-si for this? (or rent a tuk-tuk, or car)
(or pedal a bicycle, if you are really energetic).

it's not a long hike or elevation gain (30m-117m)
but, i recommend to get moving as early as possible in the a.m.
it's south facing, with not too much shade.

head north from the durian statue (town center) up hwy3 to phnom penh.
you'll see Phnom Sor as you get a few kms from town - it's the 1st prominent hill on the left.
as you draw closer, there will be a prominent (signed) road to the left.
it leads you right to the base of the hill...

the trail starts with rough steps, then deteriorates to a dirt trail...
there will be a few places to scramble up steep, rocky spots.

at the top is a small private residence where a maechee (nun) lives...
she seems friendly, but please respect her privacy.

the cache is actually down the hill a bit - away from sight of the top, but with a better view.
the small cache is hidden under a couple rocks.
it contains pencil+log - and a small "gift" for TFTF.

going down can be a bit loose/slippery in spots?

enjoy this one - my next caches will present a few more challenges <grin>
