Geocache Description:

Congratulations sweet_bee for the FTF at the Event "Summer of 2013 : Bribie Views".

Military Jetty was used for military operations in World War II, evidence of the use of the Caloundra district for military operations in WW2. It was erected in 1941 to assist in the transportation of goods and personnel to Fort Bribie, as part of the Brisbane line fortifications.

Situated next to the jetty is a stone memorial with plaque. This commemorates the 50th anniversary of the building and occupation of the 2nd AIF Troops on Bribie Island in December 1941. This was after the entry of Japan into the war.
