A straight forward multi cache with an usual twist that takes you on a walk around beautiful Vineyard Creek. Good for kids.
Vineyard Creek backs on to Oatlands Golf Course (You can end up walking straight onto the golf course if you get really lost) and from this end you can walk down as far as Dundas Station. There is a lake hidden in the middle and plenty of entry and exit points.
Plenty of parking is available near the trailhead, which is near the intersection of Gibbons St and Wesley St, Oatlands. There is also a kids playground just across the road.
WP1 will start you off, and is found at 33°47.368 S 151°02.044 E. Walk to this location and check out the sign. What year is the Local Government Act from? The answer to this is 199A. What year was the NSW Companion Animals Act from? The answer to this is 199B.
WP2 is 33°47.4(B-1)8 S 151°02.0A1 E. Fill in A and B, and off you go. Keep the houses on your left and the bush on your right. Before long you will arrive at a bridge. Count the number of horizontal planks. You should get an even number. Multiply this number by two, and add one. You should have a two digit answer, which is CD.
WP3 is 33°47.5C7 S 151°02.0D0 E. Fill in C and D, and off you go. You don't have far to walk for your next spot, where you should stop and look up high. You should see a number of markers. Subtract two from the number of markers for E. Add three to the number of markers for F.
WP4 is 33°47.5F6 S 151°02.0E4 E. Fill in E and F, and off you go. Again, not far to walk. When you arrive, enjoy the scenery for a moment before looking up high. You should see a number of markers. Divide the number of markers by four for G. Divide the number of markers by two for H.
WP5 is the finish and location of the cache, and it can be found at 33°47.5H5 S 151°02.0G5 E. Fill in G and H, and off you go. Keep your eyes peeled for something dark and unusual. Cache contains log only. Some wrestling will be required with caps. Please close firmly and replace exactly as it was after you are finished.
