This is an extension to the other "Hope" caches located around Davenport Wood and hopefully makes an interesting 2 mile walk through this lovely countryside. This cache is located near an area known locally as "The Trenches" owing to the earthworks dug by the Royal Engineers during WW1 where they trained in the digging of trenches. Now a favourite place for family dog walks and wide games.
The medium sized cyclinder cache is located in the heart of a large 3ft high tree stump along side the footpath near to the fork junction. An exact gps fix may prove difficult (easier once the leaves have fallen!) but the location should be obvious from the description. There is also a long trench to the east that runs north/south that links this and Hope 5.
