Geocache Description:

Time to pick up some trash and get a little exercise with fellow cachers!

As a sponsor of Charlotte's "Adopt A Street" Program, we would like to invite one and all to celebrate with us by attending our CITO event on December 1, 2012. Join us at the posted coordinates at 10:00am. Those are the coordinates for parking. The additional waypoint listed is for the GCGC Adopt-a-Street sign proudly showing our club name. If you have an opportunity, please drive by and take a look.

GCGC Sign - N35 03.287 W80 51.049

We will be walking the entire distance of our stretch of road, so please be prepared. There are sidewalks on both sides of the roadway, so the walk will be a fairly easy. The total distance that we will be walking/cleaning will be almost 2.5 miles and this is the reason for the terrain rating. Our area is approximately 1.2 miles in length. We will begin at the parking coordinates and travel one direction towards our sign. At that sign, we will stop and have a picture taken of all present at the sign with any trash collected. From there we will travel back to our vehicles and conclude the event. If enough cachers attend the CITO event, we may be able to split into two groups and walk both directions cutting the cleaning time and walking distance in half.

After the conclusion of the CITO walk, and for all those who wish to join in, we may gather at a nearby restaurant for lunch (Dutch style). Those in attendance have the pleasure of choosing among themselves. This gathering will NOT be an event, but will be just be for relaxing after our great CITO. We hope everyone will be able to join us.

NEEDS:
We do ask for all those attending to please bring your best cleaning gear with you. Buckets, trash bags, grippers, gloves, and anything you use or can think of that will be helpful in our clean up efforts. We really want to make a good impression on our community while promoting geocaching at the same time.

Check the weather reports ahead of time and dress appropriately for the conditions.
