A Simple Cache, part of a series around Brockholes Nature Reserve, perfect for caching families.
This Cache is part of a series around Brockholes Nature Reserve.
This cache is located just off the footpath in Boilton Woods, there is no need to stray far from the path in this delicate habitat. It is dominated by Sycamore & Whych Elm whilst Ash, oak, wild cherry, hazel and holly are also present, and ivy can be seen winding up the trunks of trees. During Spring there's an attractive display of bluebells and lesser celandine, with ferns and wood avens emerging during the summer.
Boilton Wood is also a haven for birds including treecreepers, spotted flycatchers, great and lesser spotted woodpecker, and various finches and tits. You may also see grey squirrels scampering up the trees, but the red squirrel is extinct here.
This cache can be easily accessed from the Public Footpath & Guild Wheel Route.
