THE UGLY DUCKLING (Our Fairy Tale Series #2)
The story of the Ugly Duckling is really one of a very real problem. That of bullying. This poor little guy could not help the fact that he was created a little different. All he wanted to do was to find a place where he could fit in. Instead he was met with teasing and even violence at times. This in turn had a dramatic effect on how he viewed himself until one day he turned into a beautiful long necked swan.
In the cache you will find lots of Fowl swag as well as 6 duckling trackable bugs. These ducks have all been named and as one of you will find out, one is the UGLY DUCKLING. The idea behind the cache is to talk to people about bullying so……….If you get the ugly duckling here is what should be done. Get a log book and print the following promise on the first page.

As part of the solution I promise:
To not be a bully.
If I am being bullied I will use ignore.
If I see someone else being bullied, I will tell him or her to ignore the bullies without getting into the argument.
I will not bully a bully, even when he or she makes me angry.
I will comfort those who have, or are being bullied.
If I see someone being bullied and any real threats to his or her life or account is being made, I will report it.
I will know that, because I am part of the solution, I have friends who care for me.
I know that, because I am part of the solution, I represent our community and should try my very best to keep our community a bully-free environment.
You are stuck with the UGLY DUCKLING until you have collected 10 signatures in your promise log book. Then and only then can you pass the ugly duckling off by placing it in a cache along with the promise log for the next person to discover and continue.

If you found another duck in the Ugly duckling cache, treat it as if you would any swag or trackable bug. Only the UGLY DUCKLING has specific play goals.
Well that’s the BILL, don’t QUACK up. This is an EGGcelent way to get the word out. The issue of bullying is not a YOLK.
