Geocache Description:

This is an old style multi, with more than one way point.

If you do this, we suggest you follow the rest of the title. Park at the listed co-ordinates, do an anticlockwise walk of about 2km car to car and find a cache on the way.

You may also spot a couple of lighthouses and a British style beach hut - not full size - as well as a number of colourful gardens and trees.

This is an old time cache with a few trinkets – except it is a small (not a regular) and it doesn’t have any SoBad teeth. Of course, you could do it as a drive or bike ride.

The listed coordinates take you to sign near a parking spot. It is by the Reserve that was close to the final for the first ‘unknown’ cache we did, 'The Prince of… ' set by ssarc in 2004 and archived in 2007. The Reserve has a playground area, picnic tables, and toilets.

While Mrs SoBad was checking out the area, she met a muggle. He told her he was the luckiest man in the world because he lived just by the park, in a house by the sea. He said there was only one thing wrong with his life… he was a bit too slow to chase the ladies although he still enjoyed chatting them up… oops chatting to them. Oh, and he told her his age…91!! This is the other reason for the title.

The first waypoint sign has been changed as of November 22 2020.

For the new sign A is the number of letters in the middle word at the top of the sign.

B is the number of times the letter B appears on the sign.

On the way to the second way point, if you do the anticlockwise walk, look for the sign nearby. It was used by ssarc in 'The Prince of….' cache, although it has moved to a less obvious place. It can be seen from about S 41 18.432 E 173 12.305.

The second waypoint is at a plaque in a small reserve. This was used for a multi cache, 'Castle by the Sea', placed in 2007 by one of Nelson’s original geocachers, usakiwi, and archived in 2011. Look for the castle, although it is hard to miss.

In the previous cache, usakiwi wrote, ‘The reserve was bequeathed to The City of Nelson Trust for the people of Nelson to enjoy. The number of letters in the first and last name of the benefactor will help you find the cache’. This is still true for this cache.

C is the number of letters in the first name of the benefactor plus 1.

D is the number of letters in the surname of the benefactor minus 2.

The third waypoint instructions have been changed in July 2020. Find the part of the noticeboard that reads BIOSECURITY PQRS.

E is Q

F is P + R

The cache is at S 41 18.ABC E 173 12.DEF

IT IS NOT UNDER THE BOAT that is sometimes left near here.

Check sum for ABCDEF is 21.
