Geocache Description:

Another cache brought to you by a member of the

This cache is located at the site of the Historic Phoenix Schoolhouse built in 1898. It is now the location of the Phoenix Community Association. It's an easy find, almost a park and grab. You are looking for a large container, originally filled with lots of goodies that kids will like. Camouflaged tubular container. Please rehide ! You will find muggles here on weekends working to preserve the schoolhouse. They also have a wonderful Fall Festival.

"Miss Sallie" was the principal of the school for 35 years and was loved by everyone in the community. Before becoming principal she somehow survived the tornado in 1884. She was an innovator in education. She taught a specific curriculum in citizenship. She even developed the school's first baseball team. When she died at age 89, a special marker was provided by her former students. She is buried in the nearby Damascus Cemetery.
Congrats to DragonRider74 and TigersEye95 for First to Find!!
