One of a series of Caches placed in this lovely country park, which is our local dog walking spot close to where we live. There are 3 choices of areas to park. Coming in from the A1 driving through Campsall old village you can park outside The Old Bells pub and walk down the side of the pub, past the barn conversions and into the park via the gate on the left. Alternatively the main entrance to the park is on Churchfield Road and there is a small parking area there. Thirdly, drive down Campsall Park Road and there is room for a couple of cars in a parking area just outside the park entrance. These caches are not particularly wheelchair friendly. It can also be muddy so suitable footwear is required. However Cache Number 8 can be easily reached as it is just at the entrance to the park.
The rich diverse habitat found at Campsall Country Park includes open grassland, meadow, ponds and wet and dry mixed semi-natural broadleaf and Yew woodland. There are also some ornamental specimen trees -remnants of the Campsall Hall pleasure garden. The park has several ponds inhabited by swans, herons and an abundance of wildlife.
