Chu-an Park Trail is a short 0.6 Km trail through forest to a bench and viewpoint. There is a moderate amount of elevation gain.
The trail is well-marked; in fact there are 28 official trail signs, (not counting the reflective markers). The trail is maintained by the Mayne Island parks department, and is on public land. Don't stray into the bordering private lands. If you are looking for better ocean views from Mayne island, then take the much longer and steeper trail up to the top of Mt Parke.
The cache is a small lock and lock with room for a little swag. Bring your own pencil.
