Geocache Description:

Cache is a small Systema with a log and pencil and room for a few small swaps. Enjoy!

Parking available nearby and always be mindful of traffic.

Have you ever been caught on the road between Darwin and Katherine in the wet season? Then you have probably been across the flooded Cullen River.

The Cullen is 47.3km in Lentgh and drops around 71.1m over its length. Located in the Northwest of the NT, the Cullen starts at an elevation of 182m and ends at 111m merging with the Fergusson River. Creeks that flow into the Cullen include Copperfield Creek, Pine Creek and Camp Creek.

When the rain comes down the Cullen River Bridge can go under and leave towns like Katherine and Pine Creek cut off from Darwin.

Completed around August 2011 in time for the wet season the Cullen River Bridge will keep the Highway open during those times when the Cullen River really shows its might and strength.

Number 3 in the series, have fun finding them all.
