Out in the desert away from the city we drove up a hill and spied a lake... was it a mirage... no if you drive on down you see plenty of birds enjoying the water being pumped up from underground! Take your binoculars.
To get to this one you'll definitely need a 4x4 and as always go with at least two cars and all the relevant safety gear... there is a track nearby but it won't take you right to GZ. The day we came here there was an event on at the Dubai Endurance track so take care to approach GZ steathily if you attempt it from that side. Jeanie Jeep came across the sands from direction of Track Central & Endurance Tower without too much difficulty as the sand was quite hard. Then as we left towards the Endurance Centre buildings we ended up driving against the flow of fast and furious drivers chasing after the horses & their riders - the bemused police just waved us through!
The cache is a medium sized polyjar with a screw cap and its original contents included our camel TB which we're finally letting out into the wild to wander as well as a special Dubai momento for the FTF. There are a few other goodies as well. Happy hunting...
