Old Ammo was the first to find!
Yes, it has been 45 years ago this year. Summer camp at Pine Basin, In Idaho was still in it's infancy when I attended it the first time. The camp director was Bill Swenson, an Elementary school teacher at the time. Everyone liked Bill, he could out play anyone in the game of Mumbly Peg. Knew all kinds of nature stuff, and a God fearing family man. Bill lost all of his fingers on his right hand, in a meat grinder in his late teenage years. One night at summer camp, after a "Smack-a-Doo" hunt he sat us down and in the cool evening night explained, that we all have our own "Smack-a Doo". His was his missing fingers. He told us how the accident happened, and the problems he faced. Everything he did, he did right handed. Later on in life, I played a hearty church softball game with him. He could throw a softball flat and fast with his left hand and catch the baseball, with the bad hand, in an off the shelf baseball mitt. I worked for him as a camp assistant years later. Most everything that I learned that is good and wholesome, I learned from Bill. While doing a bit of missionary service, a letter came, from his wife that he had drowned while saving a small child of his own in Pine Basin Creek during high water. So, in his memory I'd like to dedicate this cache in his honor,
