How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Please park outside the fence by the road as there are flat tombstones inside the cemetery that may be where you think you could park inside the fence.

These coordinates will take you to the medium sized cemetery outside of Namur for the former St Mary’s church. From there you will need to find the names on the tombstones we have indicated below and use the digits from the information on the tombstone dates to determine the final cache location. Great for families!  The name search will likely take you about 20-30 minutes, depending on how observant you are.

For example, to fill in N44 12.A45
The A-clue is: John Smith died 19A7
When you find John Smith's tombstone it says:
"Born 1898 died 19
Thus N44 12.
A45 becomes N44 12.345

OK here is your list of names to fill in: N44 AB.CDE  W087 FG.HIJ

A= Flora Lampereur was born in 188A

B= Julia Delfosse died on Aug 7, 19B1

C= Anton Chaudoir died on Jan 6, 192C

D= Frank Evrard was born June 6,18D4

E= Jules Dubois died on June E5, 1918

F= Felix Englebert was born in 18F9

G= Thomas Lampereur died on July 6, 198G

H= Richard & Agetha Jeanquart were married on Nov 23, 19H3

I= Alex J Parins died in 197I

J= Ernest Macaux was born in 185J

The final cache is NOT located in the cemetery.  As with all WSQ caches, please be respectful keeping in mind that people’s loved ones are buried here.  If there are mourners present please leave and come back later (there are other caches in the area you can check out to kill some time).  You do not need to touch a single tombstome/grave to find this cache.

Happy Caching -BYOP
