This represents one of a series of caches in this area of WD3 that is not well served by caches, yet, despite having some lovely little footpaths and rolling hills. I laid the series with cachethisninja and we hope you enjoy exploring this bit of rural-ish Hertfordshire, only just off the beaten-track, as much as we did.
Don't be put off by the motorway. It presents itself in the title of this particular cache, but look behind you back down the hill and you'll see a lovely view back over Maple Cross, Millend and Rickmansworth.
To reach this cache, you may want to access it from the Chalfont Road, from which a footpath begins. The road can be busy and cars move along it fast so please take care. There are various residential roads off Chalfont Road or Hornhill Road where you could park to begin the series from. Again, however, being a dangerous road and having a section with no footpaths, do take care. It is not really suitable for young children/pushchairs unless they are kept close. Pushchairs would have to be pretty off-road-friendly to make it on the footpaths anyway, which can get muddy. Dogs would need to be kept on a lead at times.
You are looking for a small plastic container that has a log, pencil and a couple of swaps when hidden.
