Dugás-kút ( Barrel-stave Well) Spring You can find the cache near the Dugás-kút spring in the characteristic forest of Zselic hilly country.
These forests are situated in the Zselic Nature Protecting Area under supervision of Duna-Dráva National Park. You can be here unconditional, but you can’t be here evening and at night (between 15 and 9 hours) in the months of troating of harts (those are September-October) because of huntings. The surroundig forest are very characteristic of Zselic. The main kinds are the beech and the silver lime. Dugás-kút Spring, the well of Somogy highwaymen. The Zselic were the hiding area of many of Somogy forest-outlows in the Y1800s. The forest around Dugás-kút was the home of the gang of robbers leaded by Patkó-brothers, Patkó János (x1825) and Patkó István (x1827). They died in 1862 when they fought against gendarmes. Recommended tracks are as those follow: 1. You will go on the asphalt-covered forestry-road it is between No67 highway and Zselickisfalud. You reach Ropoly-lake (7 kms), then you will be heading south in a grass-covered scartroad. 2. You will begin your route from the forest observatory and lookout tower of Kardosfa. Picnic-places are at the Ropoly-lake as well as at the spring.
