Deneys Reitz (1882—1944), son of Francis William Reitz, was a Boer soldier, a South African soldier in the First World War, and, later, a politician.
When placing the cache GC41DAB we decided to add another 2 caches on the route to get people to get out here and enjoy this piece of history and this wonderful area, trust me you will love it and its worth the effort.
This cache is placed at a lovely dam with a small waterfall, and its really beautiful, lovely spot to stop have a swim and take a break just as we did. Easy cache, well cammoed, suitable for trade items and TBs. Please rehide the cache as found so no one can see it. Enjoy this history and this lovely drive in nature, make sure to do the other caches on and near mariepskop too.
I would suggest a high ground clearance vehicle and in the rainy season 4x4 might be easier, but we hid the cache in the rainy season and did not need 4x4.
Please respect this nature and leave nothing behind, as this will stop us as geocaching from having the cache here.Have fun and enjoy.
