Geocache Description:

This Geocache is a micro hidden a short walk away from the paved path in the Meherrin River Park.

Take a stroll along the north bank of the Meherrin River to reach the cache.  On the way you will travel under the CSX railroad trestle.  This railroad bridge was the object of an unsuccessful attempt by the Union Army to capture it from Confederate forces on December 9, 1864.  There is a good chance that a CSX freight train or an Amtrak will cross the river while you are there. The asphalt path is stroller friendly and is a great place for kids to ride bikes and for dogs to be walked.  Although the park is open 24 hours it is not recommended to night cache for Pasturized due to its somewhat secluded location.  Bring your own pen and there is a small monetary prize for FTF. This cache can be accessed by driving into the entrance of Meherrin River Park at the north end of the Main Street bridge. Park at the bottom of the hill taking care not to go past the sign prohibiting motor vehicles beyond that point. This spot is only two tenths of a mile from the hide. PLEASE DO NOT WALK THE RAILROAD TRACKS! Amtrak comes through regularly and they travel FAST!
