Shilton is the village where I was born and brought up. I went to school there and married there, in the chapel. I no longer live in the village but it has fond memories for me.
This is a little series of five straightforward caches in and around the village. They are generally pretty easy, especially with the hints, but I hope varied enough to hold your interest!
The series is suitable for all ages and can be done in the company of children with their assorted bikes, scooters and pushchairs. The walk is over paved paths and there are no roads to cross, but it does run alongside roads for most of the way so take care with traffic. Wheelchair-users will need help in retrieving the caches but they are all on (or very close by) the paths.
Good, safe parking is to be found at “The Close” and ~~ what a surprise ~~ “The Car Park”!
The M69 had not been built when I was a child, but my own children loved watching the traffic speed underneath them and were thrilled if ever a motorist returned their waves!
This cache is a 1.3l clip-lock box and will be a good holdall for TBs
(This replaces a stage of the now-archived ‘Walking to School’ cache.)
