A Multi that is really a quick "cache n' dash" - unless you stop for a pint! It replaces a previous trad cache (GC1NG6F) at a previous meeting place for WBMC. The Mountaineering Club have now moved on and, alas, don't use this great pub any more.
At the listing co-ordinates you will find yourself outside one of the best watering places in West Bromwich - a Holdens pub! You may be lucky and be able to park outside on the main High Street or there is more parking round the corner on the street or at the supermarket.
There seems no place to hide a cache at the listing-cordinates but the tiny blacked out micro centrifuge tube with log is not far away round the corner! To find it you will need to look at the pub sign and what is written on the 4 panels below the ground floor windows & on the right hand door. From these numbers you should be able to work out the final co-ordinates.
Under the 4 largest windows are words painted in white:
a,b & c = The number of letters in each of the words under the leftmost 3 windows (l to r)
d = The number of words under the rightmost large window.
On the right hand door there are 2 panels, the topmost of which has a quote written on it:
e = The number of letters in the name of the philosopher who said the quote.
f = The number of words in the the quote.
g = The number of words in square panel below the quote.
A swinging sign shows what I think is supposed to be a throstle or missile thrush (the emblem of West Bromwich Albion football club) on a sheaf of wheat:
h = the number of stalks of wheat that make up the sheaf.
The cache is at N 52 3 (b-a) . (a) (f-c) (c) W 002 0 (g-d) . (h-e) (d + e) (c-h)
You may need a bit of stealth to retrieve it, so the hint is fairly precise in the hope you can spot it first and then go straight to it.
The terrain is wheelchair friendly and I don't think wheelchair users would need any help to spot or retrieve the cache.
I think I need to add a bit to explain why SOAPY chickens found the log roll titled "WBMC@Winos?". The mountaineering club used to meet at an old pub, "The Globe", in Reform Street but when it looked as though this was going to close down found new premises at the Sports Wine Bar in the SE part of West Bromwich. I was going to place the cache near there but then some members decided the beer and ambience was better at "The Wheatsheaf" at the other end of town and, after 2 or 3 weeks of members using both venues, the one to the NW won. As well as WBMC, the Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Society meets in their back room and shows their old films there once a month!
