Treasured memories of our past. TO FORGET ONES ANCESTORS IS TO BE A BROOK WITHOUT A SOURCE,A TREE WITHOUT A ROOT. [Chinese proverb] We are inviting you to take the time to step back into the past and imagine this historical town as a thriving community Take time to enjoy the leisurely walk to this cache from carpark,(approx 5minute walk) After placing 2 caches in this area we had to come and place a cache near the Inneston Tennis courts. During the 2nd world war our father lived here and a the age of 10 started to play tennis with great success. Inneston had a thriving tennis club for many years. As you walk the area of the courts you will still see the concrete base with it's markings and posts where the nets were placed. As Dad grew to a teenager his poweress at tennis improved and when he moved to Mt Barker in his mid teens became a Hills jnr champion . Inneston was a self sufficent town and most of the locals played either tennis or cricket. The cricket pitch can still be seen a little further along the path. The Tape and Hoile families [our family members] had enough male members to just about form all the teams. If you walk around the township you may even come across the area near the engineers house where a golf course once exisited. Due to another cache we unfortunately could not place this as close as we would have liked to the actual courts. Please take care in summer as snakes are often seen in area. Due to the x-trailers and myself putting more caches out in this series we have renamed and renumbered a few of the caches.
