A simple micro - but keep your feet dry finding it!
Sawmill Creek joins up with the diverted water that passes through the Sawmill Creek Wetlands (where the water is cleaned by natural biological processes). To reach this cache you may have to dance over some "stepping stones". It is not far off a very pleasant bike path that goes around the ponds (except in part during construction of the bridge which is taking forever). I've included a photo of the map of ponds.
To quote from the previous cache that was close by: "You have two choices to approach this cache located on the upstream side of the Forks. One is to go to Sawmill-Walkley Reservoir Cache, GC10735, and go all around the lake and then downstream (north). In later summer you know the thistles will be bad. The alternative is to follow the new bike path ... and then head over to the forks a few feet away. Of course you are now on the wrong side and must wade across. Not bad in late summer or fall but not advisable or safe in spring. You cannot approach from Bank St or Home Depot due to fencing, O-Train line and bus Transitway."
For walkers and bikers, the best and safest approach to the cache area is to descend the stairs(West side) at the Walkley Transitway station (use the elevator on the NW entrance if coming by bike).
NB: Access to all the caches around the Sawmill Creek Wetlands can be made by either parking at the intersection of Cahill and Plante on the West side of the Airport Parkway, or at the entrance to the OC Transpo South Keys station on the East side. (Lots of parking spots there!) Just walk straight through. In non winter times, you can reach the cache by bicycle and use the Sawmill Creek Pathway, using the access points just mentioned or from Hunt Club, just to the South. From the North you can get to the paths at the Transitway at Walkley Rd. (If by bike, use NW entrance, descend elevator).
