North to Nelson!
One of the PE teachers at PCSS (the highschool in Creston) was sick and tired of looking at this water bottle in the lost-and-found, so donated it to the geocaching community. It is now hanging low, not on the river side of the trail.
The Great Northern Rail Trail extends from Salmo, past Nelson, and on to Troup, following the former Burlington Santa Fe rail bed. The rail bed is level (more or less), but some portions of it are better traveled than others, so the ground varies from groomed gravel to overgrown weeds. It is a great trail for walking or cycling, and in the winter, X-country skiing or snowshoeing.
