North to Nelson!
Since the Starfrit Corporation started making Lock-and-Lock containers, you (or at least I) don't see many of these cache containers anymore. I wonder if cachers are using them to keep leftovers in.
The Great Northern Rail Trail extends from Salmo, past Nelson, and on to Troup, following the former Burlington Santa Fe rail bed. The rail bed is level (more or less), but some portions of it are better traveled than others, so the ground varies from groomed gravel to overgrown weeds. It is a great trail for walking or cycling, and in the winter, X-country skiing or snowshoeing.
