Geocache Description:

This cache is based on Alfred the gorilla, who from his arrival at Bristol Zoo in 1930, was destined for stardom. At his death in 1948 he was the longest living gorilla in captivity anywhere in the world. His story demonstrates the changing attitudes people have had towards animals and the natural world. So we invite you to come and look for our cache which we have hidden in the downs near upper belgrave road not far from the  massive stone airvent for the Severn Beach train line.
