Geocache Description:

Please bring a pen as the caches do not contain one, tweezers may also be needed.

Please place all caches back as found/well covered and use stealth wherever necessary.

The Beswick Basic Batch is a series of 43 caches plus a bonus, comprising of basic containers including vials, bisons, clip lock boxes and regular sized containers, set along an approx 7 mile walk around the village of Beswick. The hides are all fairly easy and we have given generous hints (well we think so) . The route can be split in to 3 shorter circuits if required or combined with "JumpStart the 2nd Big Bang" series to give you a bit of a challenge. If doing both series we advise that you tackle JumpStart the 2nd Big Bang first, as you will need to get the first half of the co-ords for the bonus(JumpStart the Basic Batch) from that series and the second half from this one, also, the location of the bonus cache will be somewhere in the walking route for the Beswick Basic Batch.

We do not advise doing either series in the dark but, if you run out of daylight you would be better on this series as we would definitely not recommend doing JumpStart the 2nd Big bang in the dark. Some of the paths are very muddy and unfortunately not suitable for pushchairs, we have set a few higher terrain ratings because of this. Strong boots will be needed if doing this after a lot of rain.

There are a few sections on quiet country roads so please take care. There is also a section (between caches 1-4) alongside the A164 which can be very busy at times, there is a good footpath all the way along and all the caches are placed on the footpath side of the road. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT THESE AS DRIVE-BYS as there is nowhere safe to pull up along this section of road. You will need to cross this main road on 4 occasions so please take care when doing so.

Some of the caches are placed in the trees. We have checked and rechecked the co-ords but please make allowances for the tree cover.

Parking is available in the large lay-by at Watton N53 56.065 W 000 27.012 or the lay-by @ cache #5 N53 55.500 W000 27.463

We hope that you enjoy the series.
