HOLIDAY LIGHTS - South Hill East Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wiildrose: Nobody offered to help, and my time constraints limited my ability to check the route this year, so sadly I have to archive this one. I am very sad to archive this one, as it was my favorite. Thanx to all who visited!

Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. YOU MUST SOLVE THE PUZZLE IN ORDER TO DISCOVER THE FINAL LOCATION.

Every year I wish I knew of all the houses that have spectacular Christmas light displays. I thought that this year it would be fun to get a running list of all the pretty lights in town so that all of us could go see them. I intend to take my family on these routes, too! I also need your help, because I intend for this to not just be a cache, but also an on-going project for us all to enjoy. Whenever you cachers see an awesome, new light display, PLEASE let me know the coords/address, and I will put THAT new one on the page as well! This puzzle cache lists only a handful of the beautiful displays around town. If you want to keep tuned in to new spottings, just put a watch on this cache page, and you will know whenever there’s been a new one discovered and sent to me.

Gaiser Conservatory in Manito Park is also open for a week in December, with thousands of Christmas lights just WAITING for you to go enjoy them.

Don’t forget to go see Locomotive Park in Lewiston! Christmas is never Christmas for me until I’ve gone down to Lewiston and spent a few hours enjoying the breathtaking spectacle that is Locomotive Park! Don’t worry, you’ll find it! You can see it in action clear from the top of the Lewiston Hill! Here is a cache listing in the park: (visit link)

This will be a series, with a different route for each section of the city, if I can come up with enough displays for each part of the city. Some of these routes will be longer than others, due to the number of houses that I did or did not find decorated. Some of the houses you will enjoy more than others. Also, there are many beautiful displays along Country Homes Blvd and Ash St, but I did not include them in the caches themselves due to them only being drive-bys, due to safety concerns. They’re worth checking out, though! I will try to get coords for them later, when I myself have a driver so that I can mark waypts, so that you will at least have a general idea of where to look. Also, PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY ON SLICK ROADS! There are hills involved! I know, nag, nag, nag!

Now, the puzzle:
PUZZLE: N 47° 3A.B6D W 117° 1E.FGH
N 47° 3_._6 _ W 117° 1_._ _ _
Take note that the letters are not in order on the worksheet. What to do: Go to the coords listed, and get the house number of the decorated house. Follow the instructions to figure out what the missing coordinate number is, and it’ll lead you to the cache container. Some of the locations will involve a tiny bit of addition or subtraction. I have included a worksheet for you to print out. Have fun!

Tune your radio to 98.1 and you'll get holiday music to look at lights by. DON'T FORGET TO PRINT OUT THE WORKSHEET!

CONGRATULATIONS to airrooster for the FTF!

HERE ARE SOME BONUS DISPLAYS THAT HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED:
112 W 33rd Ave (a little out of the way, west of the others)
