Geocache Description:

HAPPY ST. NICHOLAS DAY!!

It was almost 3 years ago that BigMadDog, ube66, and I went to Green Bay to seek the missing Christmas Pickle. It was a successful hunt, with BigMadDog getting his first FTF. Two years ago, the pickle cache was spotted in Fond du Lac and enjoyed by many winter seekers.

It has been so much fun that we decided the wilderness needed this traditional multi hide in 2012 and spotted a nice area on private property. Another multi cache for the holiday season!

At the posted coordinates, you will find a bit of "holiday atmosphere", including the requirement of finding the Traditional Christmas Pickle. Coordinates for the nearby Final will be with the pickle.

The Traditional Christmas Pickle was usually hidden deep in the family tree. The child that found the pickle in the tree had the privelage of opening an extra Christmas gift. It is rumored to be an old German tradition, with the pickle hunt taking place on the Feast Day of Saint Nicholas, which is December 6th.

This is a family-friendly cache. Feel free to trade an ornament from the tree. Permission to place the cache was given by the landowner. If you see an elderly gentleman working on the cottonwood tree to the west, say 'HI' to him, and continue on your way!

Happy Holidays and Happy Caching!
