This cache is hidden under the Truman Bridge, which is 260 feet long, located along the Frisco Highline Trail, the converted Frisco Highline railline that stretched from Springfield, MO to Kansas City, MO. The particular structure of this bridge is called a trestle and is a very common bridge type for older rail bridges. Most of the timber used in the construction of this bridge is treated with creosote, a coal-tar distillate, that preserves the wood. The bridge is named after president Harry S. Truman, (one of my favorite presidents), and is located in Polk County, which was named after James K. Polk, (another of my favorite presdients). For fun, state in your log one or two of your favorite presidents.
