Geocache Description:

Easy to get to...easy to find...nice walk in a different kind of park...wildlife...interesting plants...until recently, areas like this were thought to be "wastelands"...but we now know them as "wetlands".

This is a great Geocache for large groups like scouts and school groups who are looking for a natural history lesson along with wanting to do their part for the local community.

This Geocache is so named because during periods of rain or almost anytime during the rainy times of the year...you WILL get your feet wet when you visit this cache. This is why the cache has a terrain rating of 2.5

Park near the RR tracks...

Walk above the water for a short distance...

Locate the tree with 7 trunks...

The cache is in the tree above the ground. It is covered with sticks for camouflage...please re-hide it exactly as you found it so it is not discovered.

This is a "working" geocache...what do I mean by that?

The major creeks in the area drain the surrounding town. The seasonal floods then often deposit their "cache" of collected trash randomly about the area.

This is a stream clean-up cache. It is not required but requested that if you visit this Geocache you please bring a trashbag and cache-in trash-out. We can help the wetland, its inhabitants and the community by doing our part by working together to make this small corner of the world a cleaner and better place for all creatures.

Please leave several trash bags in the geocache for those who have forgotten theirs.

After you have picked up your "cache" of trash please take a photo of it and post it with your log.

Please post photos of any wildlife or other interesting lifeforms tht you may encounter while visiting this Geocache.

NOTE: you may encounter several different forms of wildlife in this area--including snakes. If you see one, please do not harm it, just observe it from a safe distance, take a picture and then post it with your log.

There are no Cottonmouths in this area--if you see any snakes you are most likely to see Watersnakes, garter snakes and Black ratsnakes.
