Small tube with log only - BYOP (bring your own pen)

Dolores and Guy

Guy W. Shaw was a really special man.  He was well known in the community as a kind and giving person, always willing to help.  He served his country in WW II as an attorney for the War Department and also in the United States Navy in the Pacific fleet. He was kept on active duty for a year-and-a-half after the war was over to assist with all of the discharge paperwork for thousands of other sailors and soldiers.  He is very special to me because he is my grandfather. Everyone who knew him thought he was a a really great Guy!

Dolores was the devoted, loving wife of Guy, whom she married September 1, 1943 in Wichita Falls, TX. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Abilene, where she taught Sunday School to a number of different groups, from young married to her final class of Sr. Adult Ladies of the Lightbearers class. She served on multiple boards and committees, including the committee that formed GLO ("God's Little Ones" daycare center), and was an active member of Women on Mission. Her commitment to her faith was visible to everyone who knew her.

Everyone who knew Guy and Dolo knew for sure that they were special. They loved people, loved Abilene, and loved each other. Now you know why I say "What a Guy! What a Gal!"
